Let the workshops begin!!!
The weekend started with a dance party at Hurstville where Jordan & Tatiana did a 1.5 hour beginner West Coast Swing lesson! This class got everyone excited for the weekend ahead. During the night Jordan & Tatiana performed a freestyle demonstration and then we all knew we were in for a 'fun' & 'smooth' weekend - their dancing is 2nd to none and smoother than anything anyone has ever seen!




Saturday was the first official day of the Best of the Best Workshop Weekend. Classes were held all day and excitement was in the air - to have America's No. 1 West Coast Swing Dancers and Australia's No. 1 Salsa Dancers, in the one room was nothing short of awesome!

Saturday night was the Performance Ball where 5 teams, from Latin Dance Australia, performed. They were awesome! A big thank you goes out to all the performers from Latin Dance Australia - you are truly spectacular dancers!

Other performances included Charles Gil & Jenny Quinn from Nuroc Dance Company who performed the Sugar Phunk Routine & Charles Gil & Loui Raish (go guys!!!) who did a little dance to 'ROCK DJ'!

The highlight performances of the night were Jaime & LIttle Liz - you guys are fantastic, & Jordan & Tatiana - you guys are amazing - if only we could all dance half as good as you pair! Having only seen these dancers perform on TV, to see them in real life was something else and a real treat!!!!

Sunday was workshops all day again and Sunday night was a fun dance party where everyone got the chance to dance with our 4 star dancers!!!! The highlight of Sunday night being Jaime, Liz, Jordan & Tatiana doing freestyle demonstrations at the end of the night! WOW WOW WOW!!!!

The following weekend saw us take Jordan & Tatiana to Melbourne to conduct some workshops. Although classes were smaller in Melbourne than Sydney (due to the fact that West Coast Swing classes had not started in Melbourne yet) we still had a great trip, great reviews and many 'thank yous' for bringing them Melbourne so it was all well worthwhile. I think we only had about 4 hours sleep over 2 nights down there so we came home like walking zombes…..!

We had people attend the Best of the Best from all over Australia, including Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, South Australia, Brisbane & of course our new friends from New Zealand!

Jaime Jesus is Australia's most undisputed talented and sort after salsa dancer and Instructor. He is a Judge of Australia's most famous TV dance program "Strictly Dancing" viewed by close to 1.5million viewers every week turning Jaime into the face of salsa in Australia's main stream population. Liz Raciti, nicknamed "Little Liz" and "Lizzy Never Dizzy" she has earned the reputation as the best spinner in Australia. Her precision, speed and control are hard to match. Little Liz traveled overseas in 2003 to Los Angeles to learn from the best in the world and attended the Puerto Rico congress where she was first introduced to Salsa On2. Her rapid climb up the salsa ranks was spotted by one of her former instructors where he invited her not only to be a member of the LDA crew in August of 2004, but it was an invitation to become his dance partner as well.

Liz and Jaime have been traveling all over Australia and around the world where they have been teaching workshops and performing in both national and international Events.
This year alone they have been honored to teach amongst some of the best instructors in the world in over 12 international salsa events around the world and over 15 national events all over Australia.

Jordan & Tatiana specialising in West Coast Swing, Jordan Frisbee & Tatiana Mollmann have been a successful partnership for five years.
They are the 2000, 2001, & 2004 US Open Champions, 2-Time NASDE Champions, Grand National Champions, and have won every
Classic event in 2004 & 2005. At 2004 UCWDC World's event they were given the Star Award for the Couple with the Most Impact on Swing.
They have also been awarded "Couple of the Year" for the past two years on the USA swing network.

In 2002 they were the Grand Prize Winners ($25,000) on the Fox Television Show "30 Seconds to Fame," and in 2003 made it to the

Well it all started with a thought "Let's go to America and learn a bit of West Coast Swing". Problem was with so many venues that we personally teach at every week, going away for a month or so to learn a new dance style was not possible, so we thought "why not bring them out here - not only do we benefit but so do all our students!". So we did!!!!

It was so exciting waiting at the airport for Jordan & Tatiana to arrive - we've watched them on TV for so long and to see them in real life was amazing! I personally (Michelle) felt very emotional to be meeting my dance hero's in real life!

They stayed at our house for almost 2 weeks and it was the busiest time of our whole life!
Everyday was so jam packed with fun activities and sightseeing - we packed in so much in just under 2 weeks...we made such good friends......

We sincerely thank Jordan Frisbee & Tatiana Mollmann for coming all the way to Australia to teach us how to 'West Coast Swing'! We love you guys so much and never expected our friendship to grow so strong in just under 2 weeks!

We also sincerely thank Jaime Jesus, Little Liz & all the crew from Latin Dance Australia for being involved in the Best of the Best Weekend - you guys are so awesome!

Congratulations to both you and Charles (and your parents for having the kids!!) on putting together such a great weekend. I have always loved the dancing of Jordan and Tatiana (since they were in the young adult division and he danced with I think Jessica Cox?) but to be able to have them teach us here is Australia was a fantastic opportunity. Actually it has really made us think about maybe taking a trip over to the states just to have the "full" experience of WCS before we start teaching it ourselves.

Hi guys,

I wanted to send my congratulations for a fantastic weekend and week following. I am dead tired and trying to keep up at work through the sleepy eyes, but there's no way that I am going to miss a night with these guys. They're brilliant teachers and this weekend and week have been so much fun and such a great learning experience. I wanted to say particularly that the organization of these events has just been spectacular. Attention has been paid to the smallest of details, with the fruit and the notepads and pens for writing down moves and instructions. The work that has gone into all the supporting material is just phenomenal and something to be immensely proud of. My thanks and congratulations for this wild success.

I have noticed that you guys have personally taken care of Jordan and Tatiana and made them feel very welcome in your home and with your family. It seems to me that they have not experienced hospitality like yours anywhere else in the world, as they haven't been able to get the smiles off their faces. I for one, and I imagine every other dance junkie in Australia is glad of your kindness and warmth towards them, as it means that they will be eager to get back here.

Thanks again, for such a stellar event! Hats off to you both. I hope you both get lots of sleep and recovery time in the very near future.

Good morning Michelle and Charles.

Just adding my thanks for an awesome week and a bit of dancing. What you managed to achieve was just amazing and the way we were looked after was simply the best.

Since we have arrived back in New Zealand I keep thinking about everything we experienced while in Australia. It's still mind blowing knowing we have meet and danced with the best in Jamie, Liz, Jordan and Tatiana.

Personally I know I am looking forward to the next trip over to learn more and catch up with some of our new friends in Australia.

I've been talking about it non-stop since I came back.
