Castle Hill Bowling Club - West Coast Swing - Charles & Michelle Gil -leading the way in West Coast Swing dance tuition in Sydney! Charles & Michelle have been teaching rock n roll for over 13 years and teaching Nuroc Modern Jive - for over 7 years.

Charles & his wife Michelle fell in love with West Coast Swing dancing in 2005, after a friend showing them some West Coast Swing Footage from the USA, they started learning West Coast Swing shortly after seeing that fabulous footage!

In October 2006 Charles Gil competed for the first time overseas in the 'Boogie by the Bay' West Coast Swing competition held in San Francisco, USA.  He won 1st place in the 'Novice Jack & Jill Division' and 5th place with Robyn also from Nuroc, in the 'Novice Strictly Swing Division'.  Charles & Robyn (pictured below) were the only 2 Australian Dancers to win or even place in this competition.  This was a huge achievement for our Australian Dancers and it really put our Australian West Coast Swing Dancers on the map in the USA!  Hundreds of America's competed in both events!

Charles also, most recently, won the West Coast Swing division of the Ceroc & Modern Jive Dance Championships competition in June 2007.

 

Bexley RSL Club - West Coast Swing - Clayton Tubbs & Janine Myers - leading the way in West Coast Swing dance tuition in Sydney!

Clayton and Janine have been a dance partnership since 1998, the year in which they won their first Australian modern jive title. Leaving sunny Australia in 2000 for the UK , Clayton and Janine dominated the UK Modern Jive scene for 6 years amassing an incredible 12 UK and 4 Australian titles as well as many others. They can boast that they are the only couple to hold both Australian and UK Modern Jive Freestyle and Showcase titles.

Clayton and Janine began integrating West Coast Swing styling into their general & competition dancing in 2000, formally attending classes in 2002 in the UK & US.

Over the years, many have attempted to persuade Clayton and Janine to teach but it was only their enthusiasm for west coast swing that enticed them to share with others what they knew. Their classes are fun and relaxed and they will have you up dancing in no time.

Janine recently won the west coast swing title with Charles Gil (Teacher & part of Owner of Nuroc Dance Company) at the Ceroc & Modern Jive Championships in June 2007.
